About the Author
Frank Morales was born and raised in the Alief suburb of Houston, Texas. He gravitated to photography at an early age.
In 2011 he founded Bayou City Prints, selling photos at a local flea market. It later blossomed into event photography and fine art commissions.
He left digital behind and began shooting and developing his own film photographs in 2019. Specializing in vintage cameras from the 50s and 60s, he set off on a one-year adventure photographing rural Texas during the pandemic.
In 2021 Frank and his wife moved to Puerto Rico, where he would write his first photographic memoir, On & Off. Geographically located in Texas during the pandemic, the writing itself is a series of reflections aimed at searching for meaning and truth along the journey. Most people ask about the “how” of this epic journey. While interesting, Frank decided to excavate his own past and go for a different take on things. For him, “why?” was a more fitting theme. And for any of this to make sense, you’ll need to check out the prologue of the book. Check out the preview below!
Frank now resides in Philadelphia with his beautiful wife, Ofelia. They have an nine-year old calico named Biscuits.
